Privacy Policy

What we keep, and how to have it deleted.

YouTube API Services

This site, and the publishing tool we use for our own channel, uses YouTube API Services. By using the site, including by playing a film, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Google’s privacy practices for those services are described in the Google Privacy Policy (also published at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy).

Who we are

The Light of All Mankind operates this website and the YouTube channel Light of All Mankind Bible. We make narrated, animated films of the scriptures and publish them on that channel.

Visitors to this website do not create accounts, do not sign in with Google, and do not connect a YouTube channel. The only person who authorizes our publishing tool is the owner of our own channel.

Information the publishing tool accesses

Our publishing tool is a private program we run ourselves. It asks the channel owner, through Google’s own consent screen, for the YouTube scope that allows us to manage our channel (youtube.force-ssl). With that consent it can:

We do not ask visitors for this access. We do not collect YouTube usernames or passwords. Google’s consent screen is the only place those credentials are entered, and we never see them.

The records we store from that work are: video IDs, titles, descriptions, privacy status, scheduled publish times, and playlist membership for films we uploaded, plus the authorization token Google gives the channel owner. They are kept on the operator’s own computer so the publishing tool can continue its work. They are not shown on this website and they are not sold.

How that information is used and shared

We use it only to publish and schedule our own films and to avoid uploading a film a second time. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles of viewers.

We share it with Google and YouTube, because that is how a film is published. We do not share it with other parties. We do not let third parties serve advertisements on this website. Hostinger, the company that hosts this website, processes ordinary server logs (such as an IP address, the time, and the page requested) in order to deliver the site. Their policy is at hostinger.com/privacy-policy.

The embedded player

A film plays only after you press play. We do not turn on autoplay. Pressing play loads YouTube’s player from youtube-nocookie.com. When the player loads, your browser shares data with YouTube so YouTube can show the title and thumbnail, decide whether the film can be played, and protect against abuse. If you then play the film, YouTube receives the usual playback information described in the Google Privacy Policy.

This site itself does not set cookies. We do not place our own tracking on your device. The films in the playlist on the Films page are not designated Made for Kids.

How long we keep it

The authorization token is kept while the channel owner still allows the tool to publish. The upload records are kept while those films remain part of the series, and they are checked against YouTube at least every 30 days so we do not keep a record of a film YouTube no longer has, or keep using an authorization the owner has revoked. Statistics and other API data, if any are stored, are deleted or refreshed within 30 days.

Revoking access

The channel owner can disconnect the publishing tool at any time on Google’s security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. After that access is revoked, we delete the stored YouTube data that depended on it as soon as we can, and within 30 days. If the owner disconnects the tool by telling us directly, we revoke the token and delete that stored data within 7 days.

Request deletion

Anyone can ask us to delete the YouTube-related data we have stored. Use the contact form and choose “Delete my data.” We delete it as soon as we can, and within 7 days. The form does not publish an email address.

Deleting data we have stored does not delete anything stored by YouTube. A film, comment, or other item that lives on YouTube has to be removed in YouTube Studio, or by a YouTube client that is allowed to delete it. Removing it here does not remove it there.

Questions and complaints

Questions or complaints about these privacy practices go through the contact form. No email address is shown on this website.
